Afghan Update

Here's where I am so far, remember there are 6 squares wide, so this is just a reduced close up so you can see it better.

I like it a lot! I think it's going to turn out great. I have a few more squares done with boarder but not together yet.

New Afghan Started

This afghan will be for a friend and her family. It's going to be the step look, where the first square is blue in the first row, as shown below, then the second row, the secon square will be blue, then the third row the third square will be blue. On a diagonal.

I have the first row done, but to show it better in a picture, here are the first 3 squares as well as more pink I did last night. It's just 3 colors: blue, pink, purple. With a verigated (Artist Print) around them.

Close up of squares

I'm just using a solid granny square.
There's a pattern here: if you need one. I just do (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each corner. I also join different then most methods. I join the first round with a ch 1, sc instead of ch 2 sl st. Then the next round I start with ch 2 (I never start with ch 3 as I crochet very lose) then I dc around the sc. That round ends with (2 dc, ch 1, sc on top of ch 3) this puts me in the corner of the round. Then I don't have that ch in the middle of the square. It almost makes it invisible. The last round before starting a new color, I do the ch 2 join with sl st to end.
I'm leaving a long, very long end of the verigated to sew the squares together and weave in the ends at the same time.

Can't Sleep? Crochet a Dishcloth!

I couldn't sleep so what else is ther to do? This was from an afghan pattern book, but it's also in the 63 Heirloom Squares book, #15 (I think). The one in the 63 book looks better, this one has less dc between the puff stitch corners so it's more open. I don't like it, I thought I would add more if I did this one again. I did sc around the endging.

One neat thing, the center, take a look below:

Notice how the opposite sides are similar? Pretty neat huh? I thought so anyway...

3 New Dishcloths

This first one I really, really like. It's the same pattern thats been done forever, I found it in an afghan book and it had a guage swatch and I did this dishcloth (was looking for a pattern stitch). It's the basic [sc, ch 3, 3 dc] stitch. I did the same stitch around the boarder, I did 2 rows of the boarder.

These 2 are basic half double crochet stitches with sc around the boarder.

CT SGA Panel #2--WIP

Crochet Today Stained Glass Afghan Panel #2 - WIP

I had to frog about 5 rows of the second panel today. Somewhere I messed up and I think it started with the color change, I will need to check at home or at a later date. I thought it was working up so easily and quickly. Oh well.

Crochet Today Stained Glass Afghan Panel #1

I started the afghan a while ago and here is the first panel (not boarded and of course no ends weaved in).

For those who don't have the pattern, you work these panels first, 11 of them. These are the end panels. So the top of this picture shows the edge of the afghan (minus the boarder).

Close up of the panel:

It's not too hard. Just single crochet and changing colors. I just carried the yarn under the long black ones until it was too long then used another strand from the end of the yarn until I could go across with enough stitches for the verigated.

I am using the Blueberry Pie it suggested because I like blue.
