Green Vest (old)

[clickable]
I made this vest a few years ago and decided to post and show it. I used a pattern from a pattern stitch book. I had been making vests for a while and so it wasn't hard to incorporate into a vest.

I used Red Heart in a green. I can't remember the stitch book or stitch. I probably used a large hook as that's what I had been doing with the other vests the same size. I did a bunch of the Groovy Crochet Vests and so I pretty much used the same ideas from them (where the arm hole would go and how long to make it, etc) and probably some from other patterns I had.

Fall Color Shopping Bag - FO

Using my V-Stitch Shopping Bag Pattern I made another one. Actually I had started this one before I started my afghan, then put it to the side when I started the afghan, but the other night I couldn't sleep so I finished it.

Used Red Heart Super Saver in the color "Fall". Size H hook.

DWR Afghan Started

Double Wedding Ring Afghan Started.

[clickable photos... sorry for the back ground, I thought it would work, but that's fine, just look at the crochet piece... lol]

Wedding Ring Crochet Quilt - link to pattern

I'm using Red Heart Worsted Weight Yarn in Monet, Deft Blue and White. Using a Size H hook.

Yes I have a few other wips but I've always wanted to make this and this pattern seems pretty easy. So far it is.

I'm whipstitching the pieces to gether to have them lay flat. They don't in the photo of the pattern and some say that's how it works on other patterns too for this "quilt". So far they are flat. I guess I'll see when I get to the center piece and the other parts like the one's above.

I did find having a stitch marker helpful in the verigated pieces. Those are long (38 rows) and I don't like counting the entire thing every few rows to see where I'm at. I have some plastic split ring ones that work perfect.

Mine is going to be BIG BIG BIG. The white piece above is called an "eye" piece and it's suppose to be 6 inches from corner to corner with the blue boarder, but mine without the sc boarder was 9 1/2 inches! So yes, this will be huge. Probably 70"x90". But that will be fine with me.

Mini Purse for Grandma - FO

[all clickable]

I made this for my grandma for mothers day.

I kind of followed a pattern, but not really. Since I used a thicker yarn, I had to adjust. It's just the basic (5 dc, sc ) shell pattern. I had some buttons but couldn't find them and so I tried a pearl. Didn't really button well, but it does close it enough.

Used basic white cotton for the ling.

Red Heart Worsted Weight Yarn.
Size H hook.

Country Rose Shopping Bag - FO

Yes I did another one.

[clickable]
Okay so the lighting and the background doesn't make the bag look as pretty as it is. I used Red Heart Worsted Weight Yarn in Country Rose and if you've used this color you know how pretty it is...

This worked out great to have on hand. I needed another extra bag to carry some clothes in. My Shoes are still in there in this picture. I used Red Heart Worsted Weight Yarn in Country Rose and a Size H hook using my V-Stitch Shopping Bag pattern.

Shades of Blue Shopping Bag - FO

Yes made another one!

Picture is clickable.

Again I used my
V-Stitch Shopping Bag Pattern
I used Red Heart verigated and a size H hook.

And of course yesterday while in Walmart I was walking around and realized I didn't have any of my shopping bags with me... lol... okay I keep forgetting to put them in my car! I have a bag of them ready to go and even this morning I forgot... lol. Oh well, I'll remember one day.

New Digital Camera

Last night I splurged. Okay after looking on the web and reading a few digital camera reviews.

I got a Nikon Coolpix S210. It's plum in color (only choice available at Walmart and not online). It's very small. It can use a SD memory card. I didn't get one as I thought it came with one, but that was the battery. Oh well. That's okay. I didn't get the extended warranty, someone was in front of me, a smart guy, and he asked about return services and walmart has a 30 day return policy. He said so he could upgrade if he wanted to. But I think that was just some "smooth talk" so he could get it out of them. Smart.

I've retaken some pictures and will upload them to here so you can see the items better. One is the V-Stitch shopping bag. But it came out so big on my Paint, which is what I use to edit them down, that I'm not sure how to fix that. And when I retook my Pink Camo shopping bag, I realized the chair was a bit old and had some of the fabric wore off and it doesn't look good… So I'm going to have to work on it some today when I have time or even tomorrow. No rush. I'm enjoying this camera so far.

Here is a picture of the apple tree in our yard that has blossoms. I think it turned out real pretty (I hope it works).

Agh it didn't work...

I was trying this out in Word 2007. Aparently there's a feature you can type your blog entry and then it will post on here without getting online. You do need internet connectin though.

Oh well.

Okay figured out how to do the clickable pictures (thanks Crochetville!)

Pink Camo Shopping Bag - FO

Using the pattern V-St Shopping Bag that I created, I made this one out of pink camo, Red Heart Worsted Weight yarn, size H hook. I did miss the last round of v-stitches (miscounted), but it worked out fine. The above picture shows it stuffed! This is the items I brought to work today: It has 2 16 oz diet cokes, box of tissues, 1 Weight Watchers frozen meal, 2 5x8 notebooks, a container of disinfectant wipes, 7 oz skien of yarn, little bag with crochet items (hook, scissors, measuring tape, etc) and a few other small things...

Here's a close up:

The above picture is new and is clickable. It's much better because it's with a "real" digital camera instead of my cell phone (which was so-so).

You'll notice the first picture is full of items, it's after I went shopping! I wanted to make sure it worked and it works nicely.

Pink Camo Shopping Bag- link to the one I did in pink camo.  This one I put a pair of shoes in, so you can see you can use these for more then just shopping bags.

Big Green Mesh Bag #2 - FO

My 2nd green mesh bag is done!
It's from
Krystals Grocery Bag pattern, excpet the handles which are similar to the Waves of Color Tote. I like these handles because I carry these by my hands or on my wrist. Krstals was one long strap.
I used Peaches & Cream cotton yarn in shades of green.
I used a size I hook since I crochet loose, but a K hook (like the pattern suggested) would have been fine too.
My other big cone of cotton yarn is in this bag.

Close up on my wrist.
