Witches Hat and Wand

[clickable photo for larger photo]

Made these this week.
The hat actually fits, it looks small because there's a foam cone ($1 at micheals in their Christmas section--it's brown) underneath that doesn't fit my head, but the crochet part is longer to fit. It is wavy around my face.

Pattern from the website The Leaky Couldron (an HP site) in their craft section.

The wand is from the dollar store, it had a foam star on the end, and I just taped it up and then crocheted over it.

All done with an H hook. Red Heart yarn in Black.

More Snowflakes in Size 3 Thread

Here's all 7:
Here's 3 new ones:

She wants a total of 20 or so.... at $1 a piece. She's a friend/coworker who loves my crochet work... she took all these, I suggested she look and see if there's any she didn't like, for example the small one in the bottle photo, but she took them all. :)

Scarf & Hat Set

I needed a new scarf for the winter. Well I didn't "need" ... I've decided since I crochet I can make my own new one every winter. I remember seeing a hat & scarf set pattern on a lable of Red Heart but wasn't sure if I had the yarn. I cleaned Saturday and came across 2 skiens of yarn and the label with the pattern! Meant to be...
Sorry the pictures aren't that great. I didn't even bother looking at the ones in my camera (these are cell phone pics), on the screen of the camera they were worse, really. Click on the hat one and you'll get a good idea of what it looks like.

Yarn: Red Heart Supersaver in Cafe and Coffee
Hook: Size K
Pattern: From the skien of yarn. Just called "Hat and Scarf Set" or something like that. It's done in puff stitches using 2 strands. I changed the hat. It was suppose to be a bucket style but I want it close to my ears to keep them warm and it also called for dc which is too open so I did sc and then one more puff stitch row, which I flipped up.

Peruvian Print Afghan

I have a few ends to weave in, but it's basically done. I don't really like the color of the Peruvian print. I also thought the off white/aron color in the print was white in the store (it might have been bright lights or I was tired; probably both) so that's why I did white between the print. So I decided I would keep it for myself.

Hook: J hook..
Pattern: From the old 7 Day Afghan Book, I can't remember the title, but it used verigated yarn. I changed the white part and did 1 row of dc cross stitch, 1 row dc and repeated that for 5 rows total. I used the print until I ran out (except the last one so it would have the same amount of rows as the first one). And somehow it ended up legnthwise instead of width wise. So that's the way it will be and I don't care, it's fine with me.

Spiderweb Doily

[clickable for larger photo]

Since I forgot my scissors at lunch to make snowflakes, I decided to do a doily. This ended up more open then I thought and it kind of looks like a spiderweb, so I decided to make it that. yes I still have the ends to weave in, but that's fine.

I used size 3 thread.
Size F hook
No pattern.

Now I need a spider...

3 Snowflakes Size 3 Thread

These are the ones I'm making for a coworker. I told her that they would probably be all different because I would get bored (not entirely different but somewhat). The one on the top right corner is the one I made for everone years ago. The one on the bottom is a slight veriation on it, only 1 picot instead of 3. The one on the top right is the lacy one I did for variety. Yes they look a little whirley because they're not blocked.

She decided to buy them in sets of 5. Easier on the budget and me too. I just now have to remember where I'm at with how many I've given her.
