Purple Puff Stitch Sweater

I liked that title. The purple color is actually Orchid.

I was looking through the 2010 Crochet Calendar and found two items. One was a post stitch cardigan, but I didn't want to do that. Then I found a puff stitch bolero. I decided to use the puff stitches in a pullover but only 2, the bolero had 3 puff stitches.

So I pretty much made it up. Basically it was 4 dc, then a (puff stitch, ch 2, puff st) in the same st or ch 2. I did 3 dc type puff stitch, so I think the last yo went through 5 loops on the hook. The first row the puff st was in one sc, after that each puff st shell was in the ch 2 of the previous row. I decreased before the center puff stitch and up to my neck. A few rows on the back for shoulders on each side. I just did it straight up on the side, no armhole or shaping on waist. Sleeves, started from the cuff, increased about every 3 or 4 rows (can't remember now) until it was wide enough around my upper arm. Sewed all together with a wip stitch. Edging was just dc except the bottom (decided not to).

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver, 3 skiens (21 oz)
Hook: Size I

Very Easy Shawl

I found this VERY easy. Although the title is Easy Shawl. If you've done granny squares and/or granny square shawls, you will find this Very Easy.

I made it in 2 days. It's that simple (and I crochet fast).

Yarn: TLC Red Heart Baby, almost a full skien, maybe 440 yards of it.
Hook: Size I
Pattern: Easy Shawl, Crochet Calendar 2010

Arc de Triomphe (Lacy Sweater)

I just finished this sweater last night. I love it. I found it fairly easy, not really any difficult stitches. Mostly chain, sc, dc and sl st.
I had to change the way I did the construction on the armholes because of my guage. I crochet loose.
Hook: Size F
Bernat Baby Sport Solid How much? 1 skeins = 1077.0 yards (984.8m) Colorway white
Arc de Triomphe by Annette Petavy from Interweave Crochet, Winter 2009
I changed the shoulders not taking off an additional "arch" so it wouldn't fall off. I knew it would be loose fitting.

Some more photos of my progress. I started on January 9 and got side tracked by other projects.

Socks (yes, another pair)

I've been working on these when I go to the laundry mat on Saturday morning. I finally finished them this past Saturday and weaved in ends too. Been sick, so I'm posting them now.

Just so you know, I did not make them match on purpose. In fact, I didn't even look when starting the second one because I didn't want them to match.

Yarn: Bernat Baby Jaquards. I think its' the Easter Basket color
Hook: Size D
Pattern: Made up, used toe up version, after thought heel. SC on toe and heel, HDC on foot and leg. FPhdc and BPhdc for cuff.

Charity Hats

Here are some more charity hats I made. We did these with the teens in our church. Some have taken to crochet and others are like "ah, I'm here" and others probably won't pick up a hook again. But at least they were exposed to it and who knows. Some have crocheted before. We did these last month and continued this month to help them finish. A few took out their hats and started over again. We're thinking of doing a drawing or something for those who finish, so they do finish and then donate the hats. One girl got creative and made her's into a purse. She just folded over the hat, crocheted up the sides, left the top open. Then did a chain and row of single crochet for the strap. She's now making one for her mom who said she wanted one.

I didn't get a photo of one more because I just finished it, I will try to get a photo of it, but it's just like the green one but wider.

Worsted weight yarn
Size H hook
Pattern: I can't find, but basically just a sc in back loops until large enough to fit around the head. The blue was the one based on the copy we recieved, but seemed large so I made that pink and aron one but that was small. Then I did the others. My other green one (no photo) is larger, like the blue.
