Blue skirt

Wanted to get my sewing mojo back so I made a simple skirt. Its just two straight pieces, sewn on the side (straight stitch then zig zag), hem, elastic waist. Took about 2 hours.

This is a picture of me wearing it with my vest (I was taking a pic of my vest).

It's hard for me to get a good picture of me in a skirt... so hopefully these work.

Need to decide how to fix the pattern to fit me. Probably in one piece instead of 3 pieces. Need to work on where the stitches go as I have a back finished and its way too long. So in hibernating until I figure it out.

Because I didn’t see an end to this and not working on it and this year is my finish my WIPs year, I decided to just make this a vest.
But after much debate with myself, I knew I wasn’t going to finish it that way. And that was a hard decision because I frogged it a lot to get the gauge. And making the body wasn’t easy as I had to count stitches and rows. But since this year is Finish The WIPs, I decided I’m not going to finish this as a cardi and so it’s done. But it will get wear in the summer as it’s open and a light DK weight yarn.

Green Pullover Vest

Pattern idea came from some book. It was just a basic single crochet pullover vest, but I did it in double crochet. Then it wasn’t long enough so I added a lace bottom edging. Since the yoke is so open, I left it kind of off the shoulder rather then on the shoulder.
This was suppose to be a “weekend” sweater, done in a weekend, so I thought I’d finish it for my 2011 sweaters, but that didn’t happen…

Used Red Heart Super Saver yarn. Can't remember the hook size (I finished it a while ago and put it to the side after January started).

Pink Pullover Vest

Start this a long time ago. I was only going to keep going down and then decided to add some motif’s on the bottom. I did just a simple granny square motif on the bottom. I finally finished weaving in all the ends!

I finally finished it yesterday with only 14 ends left to weave in (yes I counted them after I finished).

Used Red Heart Yarn. Not sure of the hook size (yes it's been that long since I started it, I can't remember and I didn't put it on Ravelry).

Green and White Striped Cardigan

Used stash to make this sweater.
I’m not sure when I started it, probably 2010 as there’s a purple one that I started about the same time (also used stash to start that one). Yes that long ago.
I decided to finish up projects and this one only had ends to weave in (lots of ends, but ONLY ends).
Top down. Just made it up as I went along, not hard as it’s all double crochet.
As you can tell, the top and bottom strips match in color.

I started it so long ago, I don't remember the size of hook I used... probably an "I" hook, as that's my favorite for sweaters. Not to large and not too small.

Notes

A few mistakes in this pattern.
The Meduim number of stitches on the first row.
There are different amount of rows on the fronts and back.
I didn’t realize it was SUPER bulky. So it ended up smaller (especially the arm opening since I didn’t read the back directions and that there were suppose to be more rows). So I added some to the bottom and front. I figured since it was going in all directions, this would just add to it.
I started the sleeve and then wanted to see if I could make it longer and wider with front rows, so I took it out. Since it’s smaller and I want a “almost no seam” sweater, I’m going to work the sleeves onto the sweater and work down. Since my arm openings are so small (but not too tight, thankfully) I won’t need to decrease, but maybe at the last row for a tighter “cuff”.
This could take a weekend to make, like they say, if you sit and crochet it. I didn’t crochet as much as I usually do and I started it late Saturday, so it’s taking longer.

I can't believe I never posted this here. I put in Ravelry though... I was searching for my 2011 sweaters I made. Only 7 so far and this one I finished in January so it counts (I'm part of a group there that does sweaters and any finished count for that year). I was adding "labels" and the word "sweater" and searched and couldn't find it. Hopefully I didn't add it or rename it something else...

Had a skien of the zebra print, decided to do it as a yoke to a cardigan.

Decided to try to make up a round neck cardi. After all the square ones (the Luna Lovegood cardis) I decided I could do it.

Added a picot edging (glad I was watching a movie when I was doing the outside part).

Worked top down, no seams. Turned on sleeves.
Worked in Half Double Crochet.

Honey Dew Cardigan

Since my budget won’t allow for the yarn called for (although I love to touch it in the store), I’m changing yarns. I bought the yarn and then the magazine, so it worked out perfectly.
Finished the front and back. I didn’t overlap the front. I changed the neckline too.

I sewed the fronts and back together and trying to get the edging to work. I want to make the edging before the sleeves so I can see how long it is, minus one row, so I can make the correct length of sleeves.
I love the cross stitch pattern on this. Very open and loose.
The edging in the photo isn’t “blocked” I just took a quick pic. But you get the idea. I love this pattern.
Finished the sleeves, now sewing them in place. I think the lace pattern may be a little long, so before I sew it completely, I’ll decide whether to take off a row or two of the lace edging.

ETA: I’m on the sewing the sleeves to the body part and just don’t have the motivation to do it. Plus it’s not htat cold right now… so… it’s a WIP. Maybe after my Chamomile Caridgan in Lavendar is done I’ll finish this as well as a few other things…

YEAH! I finially finished it!!
I ended up overlaping the front a bit because that’s just the way it went and I like it. The buttons are temporary (maybe). Just some I had in my button stash.

Purse Straps

I went through 3 purses beacause I like my keys on the metal loop to find easily. Each strap on them started to tear. So since I couldn't find one I like, and I really like this one, I made new straps.

I sewed a ribbon (matches print) to the inside of the straps to make it sturdy.

I just bought 2 fat quarter squares and used a little over one. The ribbon was 1 1/2 inches wide, the straps are one a bit wider. They ended longer then I thought, haven't had this long of straps in a long time and I like them.

Old crochet collar

Cleaning I found this top. Its been ages since I wore it. And actually its so old its too big. It was one I wore before I lost a lot of weight years ago. I'm thinking what I can do to fix it to make it fit. Maybe some darts.. or a thread belt to match. Since I'm not good at sewing yet, I'll make a belt (one day).

I'm sure this idea came from a pattern, back then I did follow more patterns more closely.

The button matches the buttons on the 3/4 sleeve edges, there were a few on the shoulder if I remember correctly.

Basic black skirt -- Sewing

I needed a new basic black skirt and made this one.

Just side seams, hem, elastic waist. No shaping. Its vey thin material. I went to walmart and this was all they had for black. Probably because of Halloween customes, the better fabric was sold out.

This is vey comfortable, I'm wearing it while I'm blogging, as I just finished it.

For winter I can wear leggings under it, for summer its thin enough to be comfortable.

I'm thinking of going to Joanns to find thicker black material and do a more shaped skirt.

Changing so I don’t have to fasten off. So I’ll have 2 less ends for each large motif.
So basically here’s my version:
Round 2: do not fasten off, work last ch 7 as a ch-3, trc in first sc. Leave loop to be picked up later.
Round 4: Do not fasten off, leave loop.
Round 5: pick up loop, ch 1, sl st in loops as pattern indicates, work remaining round. Fasten off
Round 6: pick up loop, ch 1, sl st through loop and in sp directly behind joining, ch 4 (counts as first trc) and work pattern as indiated.
I also changed Round 6 and worked in the black loop, and back bar (directly below the back loop) with a sc. I wanted a stronger stitch, but liked the look of working in the back loop. This way I’m working in 2 loops to keep it strong.

Center of Quilt Top

I finished the top of my quilt. Well the center part. I still need material for the boarder. There are two boarders on this. One is 1 1/2 inches the other is 6 1/2 inches. This will be a throw size, approximately 56 inches.

I have enough material for a different quilt. Blocks will have the variety of color and brown, then 2 boarders around those blocks. I have other fabric so there will be more color and variety in the blocks with the brown squares.

I used "Sewing In a Straight Line" by Brett Bara book as a guide. It really helped since I had almost no idea what to do. I'd like to make more.

Since it was so short I thought of doing a button or something, then decided I haven't done a button hole, decided to do it this way. I just made up the crochet part I used a size D hook and a size 3 thread.

The cone of cotton calls it Mocha Swirls.
Used a size H hook.
Pattern was my fall back, one row of SC, one row of DC, then repeat until square, last row SC. Then SC around entire piece.

Shirt With Set In Sleeves - Sewing

First shirt with sleeves

I made this shirt over the weekend. It was from a 97cent pattern Walmart has been carrying (Simplicity). Can't remember the number right now (at work right now). This was suppose to be a dress with a tie, but I don't look good in dresses and need more shirt patterns.

I am happy with this. I learned how to do:
*set in sleeves
*interfacing (on the inside of the neck area)
*darts

I used some inexpensive material to try it out. It wasn't a perfect pattern (few are). I had to change the cutting on the neck for the inside material and interfacing.

Yes it's big on me. I measured myself. Measured the pattern piece. Don't know what happened. And the darts are too low. I have a book which can has suggestions on raising darts. It's a book that helped me with the sleeves. It's the The Complete Photo Guide to Sewing. Is great for those wanting to do wardrobe items, over 100 pages of tips and techniques. With several more on pattern and materials.

I ended up liking how the collar was folded down. It's suppose to go up with just a long slit as the opening. But I tried it on and liked how it folded down. So I ironed it that way when I was done.

This was suppose to have a zipper in back and I think a button and a long front opening. It fits fine with a shorter neck opening, no need for the zipper and button (which I didn't intend to do at all).

Did you see the mistake? If not, great!

If so, it's that I cut the sleeves on the pattern material to go sideways instead of down. I realized that after I finished cutting everything and it was too late. But it's okay. It was my practice piece.
Oh, there are a few other mistakes, hard to see in photos, but I knew I wouldn't do great and it was such a stress reliever! I didn't have to worry as I sewed.

This is an at-home shirt, also a just stop at the store shirt (if I'm at home and need to go shopping... like for yarn or fabric... or ice cream).

ETA: Found the pattern at Simplicity, they are selling them for $1.99. still a good deal for one pattern (but check your walmart or other stores to save a buck).

Some could even be with my Christmas tree as I couldn't find the box this year to put them up :( . But I have it in a good place now. So this Christmas I will have a snowflake theme.

Its not very scrubby. Just 100% WW cotton yarn and a size J hook.

Crochet Update

I just haven't felt like crocheting. This past weekend I was off so I thought I'd try an afghan. The pattern was wrong. Then I started over and messed up. That was the most I've done in a while. I think because I've done almost everyting you can in crocheting. I did buy a Knoocking set at walmart, but haven't tried it yet.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Especially those who have read my blog. Maybe I'm missing something.

Or just let me know what you've made that is fun or you're excited about learning. A link to your blog or a pattern would be wonderful. When I read about other people's crocheting it gets me encouraged.
Even my coworker brought in her hat she's knitting and that made me want to pick up some yarn and hook (she had some really nice yarn from a yarn store).

Sewing Update

I actually finished 3 skirts on Monday, July 18, but haven't posted them yet. I was off work. Two were very simple, straight with a shot slit, elastic waist, hem. They were from the 1 yard material I can buy in the craft department at walmart. It was on clearance for $7 for both yards. I had thread to match all ready. $1 for a lot of elastic and I'm good to go.

I finished up another one on Monday that was a wide flowing skirt almost to my ankles. It's a pin strip in gray. Pockets. Elastic skirt.

I'll try to get a post up soon on these.

But then Tuesday came.
It was a frustrating day in sewing. My machine wasn't sewing correctly. Tried my bobbin, rethreaded the machine, added more thread to the bobbin iself, tried different material. Finally found it. I had some thread that apparently broke in my tension section of my machine (hidden). Took me forever to find it. Then my waist section of the skirt didn't work out too well, but since I wear shirts over my skirts and an elastic will gather that, it will be fine. But then I just couldn't do the hemming foot. I was doing so well with it on Monday. So I stopped. I will take out the hem and try again another day.

Black Skirt With White Flowers -- Sew

I started this a while ago. The July 4th weekend. I tried to make this skirt and messed up. Decided to add to the b ottom so it wasn't so tight. I thought I saw something ilke this on the web somewhere but couldn't find it after I had started (I wanted to see if I was doing okay) so this is the best I could do.

I used 4 scrap pieces for the filler, sewed them together, pleated them. Then by hand pleated them more. Used my sewing machine to sew them on, I did the very top center by hand. Added a bow at the vey top (covers the mess).

This next picture shows the bottom, but you can't see the "bow" very well because it matches so closely.

It's a very short skirt, right at my knees. I may wear it once or twice to work, but wait for winter to wear tights with it.

Simple skirt Green -- sew

Just a simple skirt. Pockets, straight, elastic waist.
Walmart had some nice, simple patterned material. I have 2 other prints in blue to do. I got less material in this because I knew I wanted to do a simple skirt. It's 1 1/2 yards. The Blue patterned material I have has 2 yards each. So I can try other patterns out.

Blue Flwoered Skirt with White Trim -- Sewed

Here's a new skirt I made. I was going to make this into a dress, but I don't look good in dresses, especially when they're rectangle. Even with a white sash I sewed this didn't look good on me. So I cut about an inch below the arms and made this into a skirt. It looks wrinkled on the white, but it's not, just the way I'm posing. The white is doubled because as a dress it wouldn't be as long. When I sewed the slits, on the white I had 6 layers of fabric to go through, so it's time to change my needle in my sewing machine. ;) It's a very thin white, so it worked fine, and it's good to know my machine (Singer Simple 2263) works for that. If I was doing a larger thick project I would use a different needle, one appropriate for thicker fabric.

I beileve the blue flower is cotton fabric, found at a thrift store. Feels like cotton and washes and dries fine in the machine. White is cotton, bought at a store.

Bow Tie Bolero - sewed

This was the same pattern as my last top in the previous post.However because I wanted longer sleeves it ended up shorter. I thought I'd add a ruffle to the bottom but decided I really didn't want to. Instead I decided to do a bow tie. Then the material was too thin so I took a breakn from it. I had all ready cut the front and back out. Decided to make it a bolero. Its not too bad and works over my brown dress.

Tan Shirt - Sewed

This is really tan. Honest. The pic doesn't show it very well. The lady cutting it said it looked like a heather and linen.
I used the same pattern from before: See & Sew 3886 using the back of the jacket for the front and back, cutting a little more for the front of the neck, but not enough, its a bit tight. This pattern is easy enough I would like to try more. But I think different necklines if I could do that.

Skirt with pockets--sewing

I made this skirt yesterday. It was inexpensive fabric from walmart for $1.99 a yard I got 2 yards. Needed a bit more but that's what I got at Joanns in a more expensive fabric. This pattern seems like one that I would use again and again. Inexpensive fabric is a good way to try out patterns. I want pocket in my skirts so I found this pattern at a second hand shop for 50 cents. Never used. Pattern New Look 6560. I did the elastic waist version. Id like to try the zipper version too.

I learned a lot making this skirt. Meaning I made a bunch of mistakes.

Because I didn't want to cut the print too much I did 2 instead of 4 panels. Would work fine. But because I didn't have enough material it ended up with a big, ugly cut opening in the front and back center. Its an A line skirt. Next one I will do 3 front and back mini darts or cuts.
I put in the pockets the wrong way. But it seems to hve worked out. Ill try the way the pattern says and see which way I like it. The pockets still go to the front of the skirt, I caught them when sewing up the elastic opening. I didn't do the waist part, as I didn't have enough fabric.

Yes that's a crochet vest I made years ago. I just made it up, using Red Heart Yarn, of course, and a very open stitch. Wanted a more open vest.

Yarn: Bernat Satin Sport Solids, 4 skiens

Couldn’t find the color I wanted in the yarn specified for the pattern, and I love the Bernat Satin and found a really pretty purple. I wanted a pretty spring-time blue, but nothing fit, so this was the prettiest, spring-time color I could find that I liked and same yarn size.

I’m doing this the Non-Broomstick way. I tried using a knitting needle, but the point was too long for me to work with and it was taking forever ( this was on the guage swatch). So far, so good. The Non-Bromkstick part is a shorter then the one on the needle, but that’s fine with me. Since I did it the Non-Broomstick way, I ended up adding another row of SC after the V-st & SC rows (so a Row 5 in the pattern stitch). This put all the Non-Broomstick stitches in the same direction.

I also changed the V-st to a HDC to keep the same size as the Non-Broomstick stitch and my guage good (I crochet loose).

I’m not doing the colar. I started lower down on the pattern. I decided I didn’t want one. This way I can wear a collared shirt under if I want or not.

Purple Skirt

Just a basic purple skirt. I loved the material. Found in a bin for $3.19. Found matching thread for under $2. Had a large piece of elastic I've been using, so next to nothing for that.
I didn't do a slit at the bottom and today wearing it, I found it to kind of tight, have to take shorter steps then I'm use to or pull it up a bit. But I like it. And remembering this will help me with future skirts.
Just a basic pattern, straight stitches, straight skirt, elastic waist.

Picture shows it lighter then the purple is, I had a choice, darker or lighter and lighter showed it better.
I couldn't get a good picture on me, so here it is on a hanger.

Bolero

Had 3 granny squares in my stash, wondered if I could do something with them and some other stash yarn.
Took 2 granny squares, put them together for the sleeves and back. Added a “circle” around them for the front, collar, and back. Frogged another granny for the edging.
Tight, small, and form fitting. I think a baggy shirt under would make it look nice. And a nice looking necklace.

Pink Top with Camo Round Collar

I started the bottom, working in rounds, without turning.

Came to the top and didn’t know what to do.

Saw a knitted sweater with a similar collar and made my own. I just did a long strip in SC and sewed it on. Added a bottom edging because it needed length. Since I sewed on the collar, I crocheted the edging and attached it at the same time as I was crocheting, so no sewing.

Size J hook for the body, H hook for the collar.

I forgot to post this. I'm checking my photostream at Flickr and found this one.

I finally finished it. It's been a WIP forever. I can't even remember which magazine I got the pattern out of. I did the tank and never finished that. Partly because the front and back, which are identical, contain 3 separate pieces, plus the straps. So that's 8 ends to weave in on each side=total 16 ends. Then I knew I wouldn't wear a tank. So I added some little sleeves to it and added to the top and bottom in a light raspberry.

Storing Crochet Magazines and Books

I bought a 3 shelf book case to put my crochet magazines and books in. I have another 3 shelf book case to put together to add more. And I didn't even put all my magazines in here when I took this photo (I was tired after putting it together). I needed a large "end table" for my new couch and this fit perfectly! Please ignore the ugly scrap yarn afghan on the couch, I use that to keep me warm...

Yellow Basket

Made this the end of March.
Just a little, tiny basket with a yellow flower. I used WW yarn. I used the basket weave stitch (front post double crochet and back post double crochet).

Here's what I finally did with this basket. Worked perfectly! Everything in my favorite fragrance set fit. Wow, how wonderful is that? ;)

Framed Mini Doilies 1-4

I made 4 mini doilies to frame and put on my wall above my fire place. I plan on making more.
For these I used size 3 thread and a size F hook. A white one, yellow one, puprle one, and blue one (in that order below).
These are all modified from other little, mini doilies.

White: Wanted an oval doily, and white. to add contrast to the others. This was the last one I made.

Yellow:Used DTRC TOG (double triple crochet together) to form the pedals of this "flower".

Purple: The center part is worked from the center out, sc to dtrc, then worked back again in sc. This one is the smallest of all the 4 doilies.

Blue: First one I made.

February potholder

I just made up the heart. The potholder is 2 sides sewn tog, done in 1 row of Sc 1 row of HDC,SC edging.

Very easy.

It should have took less time. It uses Super Bulky yarn.

I used Micheal's Loops & thread Country Loom. The center is in Regal Earth, a verigated brown. The boarder is in Warm Beige. I didn't do the hoodie like the pattern called for.

I would have done the edging in the same color but ran out of yarn and Micheals didn't have any more of it.

Do not follow the written instructions, follow the diagram. I did and have one extra stitch, but it didn't matter in the long run.

Love the yarn. Super Soft. Very easy and quick to sew together since the stitches are so big.

I saw a knitted cardigan with a vertical stripe bottom. I decided to do that with crochet. So I made this up.

I just used Half Double Crochet throughout.

I can't decide if I want to make the sleeves longer. I'm wearing it today and will decide later.

Deep V-Neck Frosty Green Cardigan

Lavendar Jacket

Using a different yarn and hook then the pattern called for. I'm not doing the decreases on the lower part or the increases in the bodies. Seemed like a lot of extra work that I really couldn't see in the picture if it mattered or not. So I changed yarns and hook too.

I just like the pattern stitch used on this.

I wanted the sleeves a little longer, but they ended up a tad short. I like them though.

I added a sc edging because the top neck was a little toos quare. And for the buttons.

Very nice and warm.

I used REd Heart super save WW yarn in Lavnedar.

Hexagon Sweater

This is a 6 pointed hexagon, fold and you have half a sweater. Make 2, sew together and you have a complete sweater. Yes that easy. And it's even easier done in the granny square stitch, like I did here. I'm tempted to try it in a more advanced stitch, but I have other projects to work on. And want to work on.

Very quick and easy. I made mine in 2 days. Perfect for a beginner, either in crochet or crochet sweaters!

I used my scarp yarn. Red Heart Super saver. A dark blue, medium blue and turqouise. Size K hook. I added some cheap buttons because it needed them. Wore this on Friday and loved it.

Cowl, Beret, Fingerless Mits

On all these projects I used Bernet Softee Chuky (got on clearance), except the button on the cowl, which I used Red Heart Super Saver. They're all a gray color.

Size K hook.

Cowl. I made a cowl for the cold mornings I have to scrape off my icy windows. I have short hair. I used a simpe hdc. SC around the edging.

Beginner's Beret was from the Crochet Today Sept/Oct 2010 issue. It used the same stitch as the cowl (I made the cowl first). I changed some as the last few rounds didn't fit my head, so I decreased more until it fits (it's a little lose but fine).

Fingerless Mits. Since I use cheap knit gloves, I needed extra warmth on my wrists and hands, so I quickly made these. They're just hdc with skipped spaces for the thumb area.

Big Easy Sweater Cardigan in Purple

I made this to try out the pattern.

Very easy. Fast to make too.

I made the front pieces in a day. I decided to make the Big Easy Sweater into a cardigan. Wtih buttons (LionBrand pattern).

I'm using Red Heart because 5 skines of Homespun would be $25 (at walmart). Plus I can try it out and see how I like it.

The sleeves ended up really big,s o if you're doing this, just be warned. They seem almost too big, but they're fine.

Since this is so big, this will be my Go To Sweater At Home when it's cold. i had a store bought knit one that my aunt gave me and used that one all the time. It just happened to be purple too. Loved curling up in it.

I just did DC around the netire edging, one row. Except the sleeves, just left them as is.

To make it a cardigan I just divided the front in half and worked until I got 3 rows less then the total inches (normally the number of rows on the back, but I did the front first), then I worked the neckline for the front.

I used the Luna Lovegood Carigan for the shoulders, then one row of (ch 1, dc) then a row of puff stitches.

I found some buttons at the dollar store. I only added one because I couldn't decide what to do with them.

Gray Short Sleeve Sweater

Started this sweater based on a sweater in the Harry Potter movie Dealthy Hallows. Source HERE.

I couldn't figure out the long sleees. I searched other patterns but most didn't decrease or even have vertical sleeves (confused by that).

So I made short sleeves.

Since I wasn't following a pattern, it ended up shorter then I really wanted, but I like it. P lust he neckline was shorter then the one in the photo from the DH movie, which I was okay with.

I did the ribbing as I worked the body and sleeves. I did the neck ribbing following a pattern ideas of working it into a row of sc on the neck area (no sewing later).

The full sweater pic is the true color. I took a picture of the sleeve because I was very proud of myself in making one like this.

Lining a Purse

I learned from Crochetville or other websites.

*I just lay the purse flat.*Double the lining fabric with a fold (bottom of purse).

*Draw around to cut out or just cut out the fabric around the purse.

*Sew about where the purse would go on the sides (bottom if I coldn't get the fold there). I just use a straight stitch

*Place the lining in the purse

*Fold down the top with the edging on the inside.

*I sew the fabric to the second row from the top, kind of wipstitching it, through a stitch, not in the yarn (if I can help it).

I always double my thread for extra durability. Hope this helps.

Purse--Yes a New One

Very easy square. I wanted a new purse. I decided to use this square as the basis for it.

Your First Afghan by Katherine Eng from Crochet Today! Sept/Oct 2010 issue.

I made 2 squares and then a sides using the same pattern stitch (starting in a point and working to the width I wanted). Then a strap. Cell phone holder is the same pattern stitch but done in rounds. It made it spiral. I sewed a key ring for my keys. Need easy access to my cell phone and keys.

I lined it with cotton fabric.

It’s an off white. My photos were getting a reflection from the cell phone I guess… so that’s the pink tint you see.

Project Help Idea

I saw these at Micheals and thought theywould be perfect for projects. To help keep me organized

They're call Project Talkers and were only a couple of bucks.

What I did was cut some labels that fit, then used a pencil to write on it (so I can erase it later). Some will stay what it says, but the ones for "purl" for knitting I won't use and can use the other side. You'll see the other one says "sleeve" which I will use.

Shawl

Made this shawl this weekend (Had 4 days to do nothing---well I did some cleaning and organizing, that's how I found the cable pattern for my cell phone on the last post). I had another pattern that had the Triple Crochet Puff Stitches but didn't like that shawl so I frogged then started this one and just made it up as I went along. I used the Treble Crochet Puff Stitch on it, but totally different pattern. It ended up being a 2 pattern repeat (love that).
Used some baby yarn I had, I think Bernat. Size H hook.

Here's the edging and bottom. I used the same edging I do on most of the dolies I make up.

Okay this coloring of the photo I took is really bad, but shows the corner and top boarder.

Cable Cell Phone Holder

Back Scrubber Pattern

Decided I wnated a new back scrubber.

Pattern (bascially what I did):

Made in Red Heart Worsted Weight Yarn (any yarn would work, I wanted it to "scrub").
Size I hook
Ch 12, join.
Work 14 sc in loop. turn.
Ch 1, working in back loops, sc in 14 sc. Turn
Rep last row to desired size.
Next row: Ch 1, 2sc tog, sc in ea sc to last 2, work 2 sc tog. Do not turn
Chain 8, join with first sc, turn.
Ch 1, work 10 sc in loop.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

Watch Band

Because I’ve had this watch face forever and couldn’t find brown beads I like and I was wearing the vest to match and sewed it to overlap… I made the watch band for now. I can easily remove it.

Just used the ‘F’ hook to go into the face openings on the side, size ‘I’ hook for the band, size ‘F’ hook for the last to connect (not in photo). If I was sure I was keeping it, I would have done from the bands to the center and sew on the back side.

Used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. The Yarn stretches more then I thought it would. I made it tight to begin with and its loose.

Tell me what you think... I'm not sure...

I haven't been updating much because I've been working on WIPs. Yes that's plural. Here are a few I'm taking pictures of for Ravelry.

First. It's a Scarlette Evening Shawl (link to pattern) but I'm doing mine in shades of blue. This one seems to take forever!

This is a Drop Tunic (link to pattern). I'm doing it in baby wieght yarn. It's a light blue yarn. TLC.

Here's a cardigna I started, similar to the pink one I posted in the previous post. Yep the Luna Lovegood cardi (link to pattern). I am further then this, but this is where I was at when I took a pic.

And a shawl. This is from a stitch book. “Beginner’s Guide, Crochet Sttiches & Easy Projects--19 Sttiches”. It's the spideweb one. I have to frog back to where this picture is because I missed a stich on the row above. I was trying to finish. There is an error on this pattern, I think. Row 12 shouldn't even be there. There's one complete mesh before the spiderweb and should be after. Row 12 doesn't even make sense. So I'm skipping it.

I also have a brown Luna Lovegood cardi in progress, no pic. It was a dark brown and I wanted a spring one, so I finished the pink one.

I also have that shades of purple cardigan somewhere...

And probably a pair of socks somewhere...

A gray cardigan (long and long sleeve, maybe adding a tie belt)...

And I'm sure something else...

I guess it's time for a WIP Week. To finish all these wips. Or as much as I can.

Pink Cardi

I was working on Luna Lovegood's Cardigan in blue and it's taking a little longer because the yarn is thinner and since it was dollar store yarn, I'm going to have to wash it. So to wear something quicker, I made this one.

I used one skien of Red Heart, yes one skein. Which means I didn't do the sleeve edging like the pattern calls for. But I wanted that. I wanted a summer cardi, or spring cardi since this is so thick of a yarn.
